After heavy rainfall, the Ružín reservoir near Margecany was flooded with waste. It comes from settlement riverbanks and is washed in when the Hornád and Hnilec rivers rise. These rivers flow into the Ružín dam and bring large amounts of debris after heavy rain. The share of plastics and bottles has decreased over the years and is now almost equal to wood waste.
