The photographs are a window into the world of two Roma communities – in Košice, Slovakia, and Cluj-Napoca, Romania. They show their ordinary days, marked by joys and worries, in spaces that – due to difficult conditions and social separation from the urban fabric – are called modern ghettos. The project aims to raise awareness of systemic discrimination against Roma communities.

The focus of my photography is on man and his place in the modern world. The everyday life of small communities is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. Through photographs I look at the moral condition of people, by which I mean above all the treatment of each other and responsibility for the community and the world.
