Oktoberfest is one of the world’s largest folk festivals with more than a 200-year tradition. It is commonly associated with beer, and is always accompanied by the Bavarian Beer Harvest Holidays. This event is held every year in Munich on Theresienwiese at the turn of September and October. The festival was for the first time held in 1810 to celebrate the wedding of Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese von Sachsen- Hildburghausen. Every year, the whole town bends over backwards to meet the organisation of such a big event which attracts about six million visitors from all over the world.
