Mariupol during the Russian blockade of the Azov sea (from a series)

“Nothing new, the state of war has been here for a long time," said the inhabitants of Mariupol, who for the second time felt threatened by Russia. After the outbreak of the war in Donbas, they experienced the shelling of the city by pro-Russian separatists. At the end of November 2018, during the Russian blockade of the Kerch Strait, they lived in uncertainty about what would happen with their port. The port is extremely important for the economy of the town and of the region.
