The mountain people (from a series)

North Pakistan is a place where the three tallest mountain ranges meet. It is also a place where isolated ethnic minority groups have for centuries lived an unchanged, archaic way of life. Under these harsh natural conditions, these people cultivate land with manual tools and their lives are organised by the rhythm of nature. Their happinness dwells in their family and their community. Their lives are tough, yet in some way very simple, transparent, determined by norms and rules of the community. With a life like this, human relationships and mutual help are the top priority.
